WebIt depends. A big reason for the love of the 7-row keyboard is familiarity with the layout and a "kind of" similarity to a desktop layout. But you aren't coming from having used 7-row Thinkpads for years and I suspect a lot of people today rarely use a desktop keyboard. I actually prefer the chicklet version of the keyboard to the old style keys.
