In Gentileschi’s 1636-1637 version of the story, Bathsheba sits on a balcony and three maids attend to her bathing water, hair, and jewelry. WebAccording to her biographer Baldinucci, she painted many portraits and quickly became more famous than her father. Later, probably in 1640 or 1641, Gentileschi settled in Naples. There she painted several versions of the story of David and Bathsheba, but little is known of the final years of her life. She died in Naples in 1652 or 1653.
