To get a smooth experience in Elite Dangerous with this setup, I couldn't go higher than 1.1x in the oculus home app, although with lots of fine tuning I was able to turn up HMD quality to 1.25x (essentially supersampling) and keep a steady frame rate most of the time (not in combat though).
