WebNov 11, 2005 · There may be some internal difference in that the 4R100 solenoid pack, specificly the TC lock solenoid, that allows the 4R TC solenoid to "flutter" allowing a smooth lock-up of the TC. Perhaps the 4R solenoid can actuate at a higher rate than the older version. Basicly Brian said the E4OD software tells the 4R100 solenoid, ON or OFF.

And refering the the solenoid pack, they are fairly easy to change, got to drop the pan (which is the worst part) then simply un-bolt the old pack and install the new one.
