Nettet24. mai 2024 · In the present study, geologic lineaments have been extracted by automatic lineament extraction algorithm of Geomatica software, using digital elevation model (DEM) derived shaded relief images being illuminated with multiple illumination directions. NettetThe statistical and spatial analyses of lineament map indicate a difference of morphological ap- pearance of lineaments in the satellite image. Indeed, all the lineaments present a specific organization. Five groups were classified based on three orientations: NE-SW, E-W and NW-SE.
A lineament is a linear feature in a landscape which is an expression of an underlying geological structure such as a fault. Typically a lineament will appear as a fault-aligned valley, a series of fault or fold-aligned hills, a straight coastline or indeed a combination of these features. NettetLineaments were detected and summarized in a Rose diagram ( Fig. 6 ). RESULTS AND DISCUSSION Ground water studies on hard formations often require extraction of data from images and remote sensing and GIS providing support in groundwater studies.
