Reflectance and albedo
Web8. nov 2016 · So, you could have very high reflectance of low energy "light" - maybe even near 100 % which would be a 1. But since the light striking the surface and reflecting is low energy, the "number" that represents the energy will also be lower. Albedo seems to be the reflective property of an object - it could be applied to planets, or landcover. Webquantities include radiance (at-ground or at-satellite), reflectance, or albedo. For example, it is the at-ground reflectance that is characteristic of a particular surface type, and independent of the illumination and atmospheric characteristics. In the sections below we discuss several approaches to the development of physical data layers. 2.

WebThe ground albedo is defined as the ratio between downward irradiance and upward irradiance where the latter results from the diffuse reflectance of the Earth's surface. The … Albedo is the measure of the diffuse reflection of solar radiation out of the total solar radiation and measured on a scale from 0, corresponding to a black body that absorbs all incident radiation, to 1, corresponding to a body that reflects all incident radiation. Surface albedo is defined as the ratio of radiosity Je to the irradiance Ee (flux pe…
